Radio Netherlands Worldwide Final day English broadcast

Radio Netherlands Worldwide  Last and final day English broadcast on shortwave was heard on 29th June 2012 at 1400 UTC on 9800 khz via Trincomalee, Srilanka.
RNW station interval, followed by RNW station ID and announcement of the last RNW English language broadcast. followed by a Dheera Sujan narrating the history of RNW (Down Tthe Memory lane from 1928 The Happy station Show to current free speech time)
Saxophone played the very nostalgic tune of  RNW  at 1430 UTC.
Broadcasting ended with RNW station interval (the bells)

Reception report was emailed and posted on the same day. A thank you email message was received immediately after submitting the email report.
A special finalday QSL card was received on 8th September 2012 .

RCI's Final Broadcast (via Urumqi, Kunming and Sackville transmitters)

The last and final broadcast from Radio Canada International (RCI) in English was received on 24 June 2012 from 1500 to 1557 UTC on 11675 khz via  Kunming and 15125 khz via Urumqi relay transmitter site in China.

Reception (SINPO) on 11675 khz was 44444 and on 15125 khz was 43333.

Another transmission was received from Sackville site in New Brunswick, Canada

on 15235 khz. Reception (SINPO) was 24443. that was the final English transmission from Sackville transmitter.
Maple leaf Mailbag was presented by Terry Haig with lots of listeners letters protesting the ending of RCI on shortwave. It was the last mailbag programme from RCI on shortwave.

Radio Netherlands Worldwide from Hilversum (Tinang, Philipines)


Radio Netherlands Worldwide  was heard on 23rd June 2012 from 1000 to 1050 UTC on 15110 khz via Tinang,  Philipines
'South Asia Wired' by  Devi Boerema was running. Reception (SINPO): at 1400 UTC was 45444 -- Very Strong signal strength, No noise and fading out and clear speech was noted.
Reception report was emailed to letters@rnw.nl on the same day. A thank you email message was received immediately after submitting the report.
A QSL card was received on 28th July 2012.

Radio Netherlands Worldwide from Hilversum (Trincomalee, SriLanka)

Radio Netherlands Worldwide via Trincomalee, SriLanka was received on  22nd June 2012 from 1400 to 1422  UTC on 9800 khz .'The State We're In ' by Jonathan Groubert  was running.
 Reception (SINPO): at 1402 UTC was 45444 -- Very Strong signal strength, No noise and fading out and clear speech was observed.
Reception report was emailed to letters@rnw.nl on the same day. As usual a thank you email message was received immediately after submitting the report.
A QSL card was received on 28th July 2012. with a Radio Netherlands Worldwide sticker

Rhein Main Radio Club (Sitkunai, Lithuania)


(RMRC) Rhein Main Radio Club's special broadcast of the EDXC Conference  from Sitkunai, Lithuania was monitored on 10 June 2012 from 17.50 to 18.30 UTC (broadcast to  Asia ) on 11.900 kHz. Reception (SINPO) from 17.30 to 17.57 UTC was 33443- strong interference (on the same frequency )from China Radio International was observed that suppressed RMRC broadcast. At 17.56 UTC reception improved greatly to 45444 once China Radio International closed.


Reception report was submitted on 11 June 2012 on-line at RMRC website and emailed. An eQSL was received on 18 June 2012 along with a brief message from   Dr. Harald Gabler, RMRC CEO

Radio Netherlands Worldwide from Hilversum(via Trincomale, Sri Lanka)

English language broadcast of Radio Netherlands Worldwide  was received on 18 th June from 1400 to 1450 UTC on 9800 khz via Trincomale, Sri Lanka.
Earth Beat programme by Marnie Chesterton was running. Reception (SINPO): at 1400 UTC was 45444 -- Very good signal with no fading.
Reception report was emailed to letters@rnw.nl on the same day.
A QSL card was received on 20 th July 2012

Radio Free Asia (RFA via Kuwait)

Radio Free Asia (RFA) transmitting from the Kuwait  was logged on 16 th June 2012. A Tibetan language broadcast was heard from 1500  to 1559  UTC on 11835 kHz. Reception (SINPO) was 43333 . fair signal strength with occasional fading and a little atmospheric noise was observed.







Reception report was emailed to qsl@rfa.org on the same day. A QSL verification card arrived in mail on 18 th July 2012

Deutsche Welle (via Kigali)

Deutsche Welle  English service to Africa via  Kigali, Rawanda was received on 18 th May 2012 on 11800 khz from 1800 to 1830 UTC. Reception (SINPO)
was  33323. Weaker signal and little fade out but audible and clear speech was observed.Reception report emailed to DW and submitted online on the same day. A qsl card arrived on 9th June 2012.

                                                     
                                        

RCI-Radio Canada International (via Sackville)

RCI English broadcast was logged on 27 May 2012 on 15235 khz via Sackville transmitter.  Reception (SINPO) at 2005 UTC was 34233 -- fair signal strength but severe atmospheric noise,
Maple leaf Mailbag was presented by Terry Haig with  Bonnie Brayton (National Executive Director of the Disabled Women's Network of Canada)
A reception report was submitted online at the RCI website shortly after their transmission ended. An Acknowledgement of receipt and confirmation was emailed on 28 May 2012.
QSL letter with stickers arrived in the mail on 9 th June 2012.

Radio kuwait (via Sulaibiyah)


Radio kuwait transmitting from Sulaibiyah, was heard on 4 th June 2012. An English language broadcast was monitored from 19.30 to 20.57 UTC on  15540 kHz. Reception (SINPO) from 19.30 to 20.30 UTC was 34333 -- weaker signal strength and reception was bit hampered by light QRM. After 20.33 UTC reception was 44333 -- good on most accounts. Reception report was not sent to the station.
